Itzel Cuevas Yáñez She is currently the president of the Red GlobalMX- Belgium (Mexican Global Network), which carries out projects with the Mexican diaspora to promote culture, art, science, and technology in Belgium. She has a degree in humanities from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico and a Master’s degree in Political Economy from the University of Kent, UK. Additionally, she also works as a consultant with the EU-Latin Business Forum in Brussels, Belgium. During her professional career, she has worked for more than 10 years in evaluating sustainable projects in vulnerable communities or for social investment. Since arriving in Brussels 5 years ago, she remained in contact with Mexico through professional projects or volunteering. For a few years now, she worked with the Mexican diaspora in Belgium and in Europe, to find out what the main obstacles are and the best way to support each other as a community, trusting that they have a lot to provide for both regions.
