Ahmad Wali Ahmad Yar

Ahmad Wali Ahmad Yar is a postdoctoral researcher specialising in international migration statistics, EU migration policies, and diasporas. Formerly at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), he focused on migrant integration, EU migration policies, and local-level integration strategies. With experience as a UNHCR interpreter in Central Asia and a Public Relations Officer for the Ariana Social Centre, Ahmad Wali is deeply committed to improving the lives of the Afghan diaspora in Europe. Currently, he supports the UNHCR in Belgium, facilitating a community-based "Refugee Committees" project. Originally from Afghanistan, Ahmad Wali holds a PhD in Sociology from university of Brussels, a master's in Political Science from ULB and a bachelor's in International Relations from al Farabi Kazakh National University.
